Conflict & Skies - 1999 - 2000

Conflict and Skies are are two separate but intertwined series of study compositions that developed from the descriptive and gestural brush strokes from a previous theme of works titled Violent Skies
Within these compositions Jason homed in on a descriptive action of applying paint.

The actual process became the motive so achieving a painting based on the original subject matter through the learned ability of applying paint.
It can be a single brush stroke or a bold presence of colour that really captures the essence of what has been experienced: it can be so simplistic, breaking down expected structure, making itself pure.

Below is a small selection of works from the two themed series of explorative painterly investigations.
